The Australian’s 2024 Research Magazine ranks Deakin University and its researchers as one of the nation’s top 12 research institutions.

The magazine acknowledged Deakin’s broad research excellence, naming the University as Australia’s leading institute in 13 fields of research and naming six Deakin academics as leaders in their fields.

Each year, The Australian’s Research Magazine highlights Australia’s research leaders, and the institutes at the forefront of knowledge, based off citations and research output.

Deakin is home to more than 2000 research experts across four faculties, seven research institutes and seven research centres, and is supporting the next generation of research talent with more than 2000 research degree students.

Deakin Vice-Chancellor Professor Iain Martin says the university strikes a deliberate balance between its research and its teaching.
