A new website aims to tackle hate

A new online resource, developed by Dr Matteo Vergani and colleagues, aims to help police, NGOs and others tackle hate and extremism.

Led by Dr Matteo Vergani, a new website aimed at combating hate and extremism has just been launched.

Tackling Hate (www.tacklinghate.org) is a collaborative initiative developed by researchers from Deakin University, University of Sydney, Michigan State University and City University of New York. It aims to build the capacities of community organisations, government agencies, law enforcement, researchers and students to tackle hate and extremism. The website contains 10 training modules and over 49 original videos featuring interviews with Australian and international experts.

The establishment of the Tackling Hate website was supported by the Victorian Department of Justice and Community Safety. The website is hosted at the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation, and it is sustained in collaboration with the Centre for Resilient and Inclusive Societies.
