Hedayah, the International Center of Excellence for Countering Extremism and Violent Extremism, is organizing and hosting its Annual International Research Conference 2023 in response to present and evolving extremist and violent extremist threats and challenges, and in alignment with Hedayah’s mission to prevent and counter extremism and violent extremism through evidence-based and innovative programs, strategic communications, and world-class research.

The Conference will be hosted by Hedayah in partnership with the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism (ICCT), with kind support from our host country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. Sponsorship has also been provided by the United Arab Emirates and Government of Spain. Strategic Partners for the event currently include the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT), the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), Love Frankie, Tech Against Terrorism (TAT), and the Alfred Deakin Institute (Deakin University).

Previous conferences were organized with support from international organizations, governments, and academic institutions achieved tremendous success in gathering over 100 expert researchers, policymakers, and practitioners worldwide.

The eighth Conference will be held in The Hague from 11-13 October 2023, and will be a hybrid event which will allow participants to join both in-person and online. Attendance at the Conference is made free of charge by Hedayah, but please note that Hedayah does not cover any travel or administrative costs associated with attending the conference. The conference will be held in English, and translation will not be available.
