POLIS Seminar: Peace Operations as Architects of State Sovereignty

POLIS Seminar: Peace Operations as Architects of State Sovereignty

Event Venue:

Deakin Burwood Corporate Centre 221 Burwood HighwayBurwood, VIC, 3125, Australia ( Map )

Contemporary stabilisation operations in Africa often pursue different conceptions of sovereignty based on their interests and history rather than a unified UN conception of the state. As a result, multiple visions of the ‘state’ are simultaneously pursued by peacekeepers, leaving the very nature of sovereignty up for debate in post conflict contexts.
