Dr Scott Burchill (Deakin University)
For the first time, the White House and the US military-industrial sector - known as the Deep State - are in open conflict. The implications of this struggle and how it is played out, will not only shape the presidency of Donald Trump. It will also have profound implications for American democracy. This seminar will discuss the back bearings of the conflict and explain why the Deep State is not well understood by the discipline of International Relations, especially its theoretical domains.
The seminar will be held at Deakin Burwood (Level 2, Building BC, 221 Burwood Highway Burwood) and available via VMP at Deakin Geelong (IC3.315).
