Funding Success – Earvin Charles B. Cabalquinto

Dr Earvin Charles B. Cabalquinto’s project entitled “Performing care in a digitalized world” has been selected and funded by the University of the Philippines Center for Women’s and Gender Studies (UPCWGS).

ABOUT

The project will critically examine how care is performed and experienced through the use of digital devices, online media, and emerging technologies by ageing Filipina migrants in Victoria, Australia. The project is one of the seven projects selected and funded under the 2022 UPCWGS Research Grant.

The funding will cover the interviews among 15 participants in Victoria, Australia as well as transcription and administrative works.

Outcome: A publication in the Review of Women’s Studies (the journal under UPCWGS), a publication in a Q1 journal publication, an online seminar, and data presentation in a Philippine-based newspaper and SBS Filipino Radio.

This project is funded by the University of the Philippines Center for Women’s and Gender Studies (UPCWGS).

PROJECT TEAM

Chief Investigators: Dr Earvin Charles B. Cabalquinto (Main) and Ms Athena Presto, a Lecturer in the Department of Political Science of the Ateneo de Manila University (Philippines) and graduate student at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) of the National University of Singapore.
