What is a good fire simulator?

What is a good fire simulator?

Project Description

Australia’s frequent bushfires require effective tools for their management. This collaborative research project, led by The University of Melbourne, Deakin University, the Country Fire Authority, AFAC, and the NSW Rural Fire Service, is underway to investigate user needs for fire simulators. The project will focus on understanding how fire agencies across Australia currently utilize these critical tools. Analysing user experiences, including strengths, weaknesses, and unmet needs in current fire simulators, is crucial. This information will guide the development of “Spark,” a national fire simulator designed to optimize fire prediction, risk assessment, research, and mitigation strategies. By directly engaging stakeholders, the project aims to ensure Spark and other simulators are valuable asset for Australian fire services.
