Remaking Ukraine after World War II

In this video, Dr Filip Slaveski recalls finding the letter from a soldier that led him to research and write his latest book, Remaking Ukraine after World War II. The Clash of Local and Central Soviet Power

The book explores the tension between Ukrainians, the local Soviet authorities and the central powers in reconstructing Ukraine in the aftermath of WWII, including negotiating feeding rapidly growing populations in the post-war famine.
